My Balloon Container

My Balloon Container
Hello friends!! My name is Anant Srivastava and I am a student of class IV- A. I am going to share my experience about the balloon container I made recently. On Fridays, the first two periods are allotted for hobby club, and I am a member of the Art and Craft club. Our teacher told us to bring some balloons, 128 buttons, and gum. After blowing the balloons we covered it partly with buttons and let it dry for 3 hours. As we cut the end of the balloons slowly it released all the air and took the shape of a container. Initially I thought it would be a very hard task for me but after completing I was very pleased to see the result. The toughest time was to protect it for 3 hours. I had to hold it in hand the entire time while returning home. Dear readers, you should also try; it’s great fun!! Best of luck!!

CRICKET TOURNAMENT

CRICKET TOURNAMENT

Cricket is my favourite sport. I am very much fond of playing cricket. I play cricket almost on a regular basis and I often participate in cricket tournaments. This year Sreebhumi Sporting Club had organised an intra-club cricket tournament.
My teammates were very excited to participate in the tournament. We were quite confident about ourselves. It was an amazing experience playing with the opponent team. They were also brilliant players. When my turn to bat came I gave it my best. I can never forget the moment when I hit a six and everyone cheered me.
I was on cloud nine when the trophy was handed over to our team. I felt extremely proud of us. It has been a thrilling experience. I hope we get more such chances in future.

ANNUAL INTER-SCHOOL SCIENCE QUIZ BY BITM

Rahul Konar ( Class- IX –D), Satwata Dutta (Class- VIII)and I ,Brahma Kumar Bhattacharyya ( Class-IX-D) represented the ‘Senior group of our school in the ‘Annual Inter-School organized by BITM this year.
We were taken there from school via school’s own transport, accompanied by our very own respected Reetom Sir.
We dispersed from our school at around 12:00 P.M and reached there at 2:00P.M. Besides ReetomSir, we were also accompanied by Krishanu ( Class – VII), Mayukh( Class- VII) and Parijat ( Class-VII) , who represented the ‘Middle’ group of our school. We had to compete with ‘Loreto, Sealdah’ , Middle group. The quiz started with our school’s middle group on one side and ‘Loreto, Sealdah Middle group’ on the other side. However, unfortunately our middle group got thirty marks while Loreto students got forty marks ,thus missing the chance to win by an inch.
Then came our chance to compete with Loreto Senior group.Thecompetition was quite interesting due to the tough competition between us. At the end we got fifteen marks while they scored twenty two and a half marks. We lost but had a lot of fun in the excursion. We experienced the grandeur of the technological provisions in BITM. We had solved various problems in science. The scientific problems seemed to have become real while standing in front of the archives. Indeed, it was a, great learning experience for all of us. I am sure that next time we will study hard and bring laurels for our school.

HEAL THE WORLD!!

HEAL THE WORLD!!

There was an incredible workshop on history hosted by one of the most prestigious educational institution of Kolkata, Indus Valley World School. Delhi Public School North Kolkata was among the many notable schools invited on this special occasion. As the world peace day, they were celebrating 20th September by consolidating all the renowned institutions of Kolkata on one platform discussing about “peace and the post war generation.”
There was a brief introduction about peace and how it is interwoven with man’s enlightenment given by the respected chancellor of Ashoka University and the indispensable monarch, Dr. Rudrangshu Mukherjee.
We were taken to a trip down the memory lane by short introductions and videos which conspicuously reminded us again about the catastrophic aftermath of a war. We were given a chance to voice our opinions and viewpoints about peace and how it should be maintained in today’s contemporary world. We were shown certain clippings and short documentaries which gave us some idea about the post war period and also the enormity of the casualties sent chills down our spine. We were advised to watch some of the notable Oscar winning films such as “the Nuremberg Judgment” etc to transform ourselves from “more learned” to “less learned” youth in the post war era. We also had an interactive session on this issue and discussed on how to begin with the grass root level to spread worldwide peace and stop vandalizing the human civilizations. The workshop concluded with the promise taken by us that we will commemorate each and every day and not just one day in the near future as “Peace Day’’ and celebrate the eternity and infinity of peace.
